Oh wow I thought this was an only me experience. I LOVE Joseph so much that I literally broke the VHS tape - and I still watch the movie at least like 3 times a year. My girlfriend has learned all the words of "Close Every Doo" purely by osmosis. You're so right, it is a delightful queer romp and I love it. Off to listen to the soundtrack rn.
I’m obsessed with the common queer experience of this movie - and also this broken VHS common thread is hilarious. I did not break it, but am similarly obsessed and listen to the Donny Osmond version of the soundtrack often. My cousins had a joke about their brother Joe being their dad’s favorite son and made their own lyrics and sang it at a family reunion in like 2002. “And Joseph was, my joy because, he reminded me of MEEE” 💀
