Yearners, we’re hosting our first ever party!
On September 23rd, we’re inviting all our friends (ie. you!) to come party with us at Ginger’s Bar in Brooklyn. We’ve wanted to find a way to bring our readership together to dance the night away in the name of queer writing and community for a long time. And our first birthday is a good excuse!
That’s right…
It’s our birthday!
While the Big Gay Party is first and foremost an opportunity for us to celebrate queer art and self-expression, it is also a birthday celebration for us. One year ago today, The Yearning was born!
We are so grateful to all of you who come back to read our thoughts on queer media week after week. If anything we’ve written over the past year has resonated with you, or turned you on to your new favorite movie/tv show, then please share it and tag us! It helps us grow big and strong.
We’re also celebrating by giving our newsletter and homepage a little makeover—what do you think? Don’t be shy!! 😈
So anyway, about this party…
Together with the fab creators of The InQueery newsletter (which you can check out here) we are co-hosting the BGP as ARTSLUT. There will be a free raffle with great prizes, a DJ set by STARGRL, custom ARTSLUT goodie bags and more!!
Details can be found in the poster above. If you’re interested in attending, you can RSVP using this link!
The event is free and open to all, but get there early! We expect to reach capacity (brag).
