New in January:

Reframed: Next Gen Narratives (January 1st)

What’s it about? In this series, six filmmakers adapt classic movies through a contemporary lens, tackling modern-day issues surrounding identity.

Gay, in what way? This actually sounds incredibly cool and out there–the films revisited will be A Star is Born, Jack and the Beanstalk, Calamity Jane, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Prince and the Pauper, and Rebel Without a Cause.

Missing You (January 1st)

What’s it about? This mini-series follows Detective Kat Donovan. When she matches on a dating app with the fiancé who disappeared years before, she learns that some secrets are best left in the past.

Gay, in what way? Aqua, a trans character played by trans actress Mary Malone, is one of Kat’s two best friends, and a close friend of her ex Josh.

Where to watch? Netflix

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 (January 3rd)

What’s it about? This season, 14 dazzling new queens enter the Werk Room to compete for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and a cash prize of $200,000 for the winner.

Gay, in what way? Must we elaborate?

Where to watch? MTV

Traitors Season 3 (January 9th)

What’s it about? Alan Cummings’ reality competition show pits reality stars against each other in an “ultimate murder mystery game” where traitors are hidden amongst contestants and everyone else must sniff them out to take home the prize money.

Gay, in what way? Queer contestants for season three include Bob The Drag Queen, Chrishell Stause, Carolyn Wiger and Gabby Windey.
